Ukraine increased electricity imports in June by 85% compared to May, while exports decreased by the same amount, according to data from the Ukrainian consulting company ExPro.
"Imports of electricity in June 2023 increased by 85% compared to the previous month. At the same time, exports over this period decreased by 85%... Exports of electricity in June occurred only during the 1st-11th. 90% of the total (5,600 out of 6,175 MWh) was delivered to Poland," the message on the ExPro website says.
According to the company, Ukraine imported electricity from Moldova and Slovakia.
Earlier, the chairman of the board of the national energy company Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, said that the summer season would be a difficult period for the Ukrainian energy system, and there is already a shortage of resources.
