The European Parliament passed a law on artificial intelligence

Last Thursday, the Committee of Legislators of the European Parliament approved the EU legislation on artificial intelligence, which establishes requirements for developers of basic AI models such as ChatGPT. The act includes provisions to protect copyright and ensure the legitimacy of training data. China has been ahead of the West in developing its own rules to govern the development of generative AI-based products like ChatGPT. EU legislators provide risk-based regulation of the AI market, while banning applications that may pose an unacceptable risk, and establishing security, data management and copyright infringement requirements for core AI models.
