Ray Dalio spoke about the danger and "tremendous power" of AI

Bridgewater Associates founder and co-chief executive, billionaire Ray Dalio, shared his concerns about the risks posed by artificial intelligence technologies along with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. According to Business Insider, Dalio stressed that the introduction of AI could spark a productivity revolution, but that the technology itself could be disruptive if not properly controlled.

Dalio expressed concern about the rise of innovative technologies, especially generative artificial intelligence programs such as the ChatGPT chatbot. He noted that this technology is incredibly powerful, but also dangerous, because there is a risk of human abuse. In his words: "We are in a situation where AI can be of great benefit, improve living standards and make the world a better place, but it can also be used to harm others."

Recall that in March of this year, a group of business leaders, including Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak, signed an open letter stating that AI systems such as GPT-4 OpenAI pose a threat to humanity. The letter, published by the non-profit Future of Life Institute, notes that AI is rapidly becoming competitive in solving common problems, and calls for a six-month pause in the development of any technology that surpasses the power of GPT-4.
