On the New York Mercantile Exchange, WTI futures for June delivery traded at $72.82 a barrel, up 2.07% from the prior figure. The maximum mark for the session was USD per barrel. At the time of writing, the price of WTI oil was in the support zone at $63.64 and resistance at $73.69.
In addition, the USD Futures Index, which measures the US dollar against six major currencies, rose 0.17% to $101.17.
On the ICE exchange, futures for Brent crude for July delivery rose 1.77% to $76.63 per barrel. The difference between the price of the contract for Brent oil and the contract for WTI oil was $3.81 per barrel.
